H1N1 has been in our home?!
Today an appointment to the doctor reveals that our doctor believe we have been
battling with H1N1 ...
To tell you the truth I am not sure...I trust his judgment and have to believe this but
I always thought should this H1N1 wreak havoc in our family that this could be a recipe for disaster...
So I asked a ton of questions...first did we have all the symptoms...yes and still do...
We are no longer contagious but now need to fully heal from this as to avoid complications...
The little boys are not out of the woods because they are severely asthmatic...
Paul has been fever free for several days but is now showing signs of pneumonia so medication has been quadrupled..this is where H1N1 causes issues...for healthy people it is a flu...period...
less then 1% of people will develop complications...and of that 1% it is usually people who had pre-existing medical conditions such as asthma, cancer etc...
So a watchful eye is still in order...
Last week I started our family on a heavy concoction...
Colloidal silver, vitamin D, homeopathic remedies, oregano oil, essential oils rubbed under the feet...and breathed in
Just a few of my little flu trick armor...
The flu itself hit hard and quick...every one of us were hit very fast and furious...lots of fluids is a must and bed rest...did I mention lots of fluids...push fluids in like crazy in what ever form...water,juice,Popsicle, healthy teas...soups..preferably chicken soup or broth... Absolutely NO eating of anything sugary, white or precessed...
Cold wash cloths on the forehead...Tylenol is a must....and lots of movies for the kiddies...
Tomorrow I will post my flu spray mixture...
If nothing else this has helped our family go through this flu with few bumps as to date...
In my mind being armed and prepared cannot hurt...
We have also armed ourselves with the word of God....the most important thing of all is this...so when the road gets "bumpy" you have Gods ever present word in your mind and heart...
We had decided not to vaccinate and as it turned out we got sick before the vaccination campaign began...and then would have not qualified...so the decision was firm either way...
Was it scary...yes...is it still scary ...yes...I have two little guys who are not out of the woods just yet and I will be one very happy momma when they get the ALL clear...until then...I continue to pray and spray...

Wow. I hope everyone continues to heal and get well. If it's any comfort, now that you've faced what you fear, maybe it's not such a huge scary monster?! I'll continue to pray that the kids get well without any serious complications....
Just to clarify...this flu is like any regular flu...it is just more contagious...but I have to say I am not sure they know all how it is spread...I have been puzzled about it as we are and have been prolific hand washers/hand sanitizers...
It is supposedly contagious before you even know you are sick with it...
The important thing is to to touch the eyes, mouth or nose...
I also gargled with warm salt water and rubbed warm salt water in my nostrils with a Q-tip...
I read somewhere that bacteria cannot grow in salt water...as I am the only one who did this ...I am also the one who was sick the less....so you be the judge..
sure worked for me...and I will continue to do this...I tried to at least do the boys noses but it came with lots of tears...gargling with salt water made Gabriel throw up...and everyone else thought it was crazy...but hey...I am not the one still sick...lol
I've heard that about the salt water gargling or to use something like Listerine if you can't stand it. =) I should do that. I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard that the incubation period is 3-6 hours, so it sure doesn't take long to get sick from when a person is exposed. Do you feel any better now knowing that your family has already faced this?
